Classical Singer Magazine published an interview/review of my book A Systematic Approach: The Art of Studio Application. The review was written by Brian Manternach and can be found in October/November 2020 of CS Magazine online or below. Brian provided me an opportunity to answer several thoughtful questions he posed, which enabled me to further elaborate on the book. In the article, we discuss what first inspired my passion for voice science, and how that influenced the writing of the book; he asked me to expand on why I don’t want my book to be considered a methodology; and why I feel a heuristic approach to voice teaching is important.
